CBNL’s Julius Robson presented with ‘Chairman’s award’ at the Small Cell Industry Awards in recognition of supporting the industry in the emerging sector of small cell backhaul
CBNL completed a successful week at the Small Cells World Summit when Julius Robson was presented with the ‘Chairman’s award’ at the 2013 Small Cell Industry Awards.
The annual awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the small cells industry.
Julius Robson, Wireless Technology Specialist at CBNL and Vice Chair of the Small Cell Forum’s Backhaul Group was presented with the award to mark an outstanding contribution to the Small Cells Forum and supporting the industry in the emerging sector of small cell backhaul.
The award was in recognition of Julius’ role in gaining industry consensus and providing the technical expertise to help the industry get to grips with small cell backhaul and accelerate network roll outs.
The work was published in the Small Cell Forum’s backhaul white paper which went on to be one of the most popular papers published by the Forum.
The whitepaper is essential reading for any in the industry needing to get to grips with the emerging sector of small cell backhaul. It details the range of solutions available and how together they meet the requirements for a range of different use cases.
Gordon Mansfield, Chairman of Small Cell Forum, said:
“The Small Cell Forum Chairman's award acknowledges the outstanding contribution made by Julius Robson and CBNL to the work of the Small Cell Forum.
“The backhaul expertise and commitment demonstrated have played a key role transforming industry perceptions around the challenges and opportunities associated with small cell backhaul.
“Julius and CBNL have shown strong leadership in gaining industry consensus and publishing the feasible small cell backhaul solutions which are commercially available as part of the Forum’s Release Programme.
“It has been a huge step forward to demonstrate clearly that backhaul does not constitute a barrier to public access small cell deployments and undoubtedly supports the Forum’s work to accelerate the wide-scale adoption of small cells.”
Julius Robson, added:
“With the first commercial small cell rollouts underway, the industry is experiencing the steepest part of the learning curve as the practical details are ironed out.
"CBNL is delighted to share its expertise in supporting the industry, demonstrating that today’s commercially available backhaul solutions are well suited to operators' requirements and have the capability to play an immediate role in supporting small cell roll outs.
“We are very much looking forward to continuing our support of the Forum and helping the industry benefit from the many advances small cells will bring to service providers, businesses and consumers across the globe.”
