CBNL continue global expansion

Contract wins across eight new markets signify global expansion

Company also completes successful small cell field trials

CBNL, the global leader in the development and deployment of next generation multipoint microwave networks, today highlighted the significant expansion of its activities over the past 12 months.

The company’s VectaStar multipoint microwave technology now serves operators in 36 countries around the world, adding eight new markets since 2011.

The success, driven by expansion in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and, most recently, Latin America has established multipoint microwave as a key technology for developed and emerging markets alike, and confirmed Cambridge Broadband Networks’ prominent position as a global network solutions provider.

Significant contracts and developments during the past 12 months include backhaul infrastructure for the UK’s largest LTE trial in London and continued investment in Africa, now supported by dedicated Centre of Excellence training facilities in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.

More recently, the company has expanded into Latin America and already has projects underway in Peru, Venezuela, Uruguay, and Argentina.

Strong repeat business in Europe, Africa and the Middle East has also contributed to success during the period; solid evidence of the reliability, practicality and innovation VectaStar delivers to network operators.

CBNL is at the forefront of small cells development.

The company has recently been appointed the Vice Chair of the Backhaul Group for the Small Cell Forum, and its VectaStar platform has completed two successful small cell field trials.

VectaStar has also been deployed as a key backhaul element of a commercial small cell Wi-Fi network in central London.

“The global telecoms market continues to provide new and interesting challenges for operators and service providers.

"Whether diversifying the network architecture, such as small cells, or delivering services over different technologies such as Wi-Fi - what is certain is that networks are becoming a hybrid of solutions to deliver a high speed and reliable customer experience, and therefore operators need a toolbox of solutions,”

said Lionel Chmilewsky, CEO, CBNL.

“Our aim is to continue being a key and leading contributor for that toolbox. We have continued to provide significant investment in our VectaStar platform to cater for the diverse applications now required. VectaStar has been proven to be effective, scalable, and ultimately reliable for next generation LTE and Wi-Fi networks, along with established 2G/3G backhaul and access networks worldwide.”

VectaStar multipoint microwave technology serves over 50 communication providers across 36 countries.
